As a CIMA qualified management accountant, Sue has helped many businesses to establish a robust financial framework, whether at the start up stage or for more established businesses. Sue has experience of running her own businesses, both as a sole trader and Cool Ventures and understands the pressures that small and medium-sized businesses face in the all-important early years of trading.

Sue also has experience in large organisations in both the private and public sector. Formerly an NHS non-executive director and with experience at a senior management level within the private sector at Safeway and the RAC. In 2010 Sue was nominated for the Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative Adviser of the Year.

Roger has wide experience of senior and board-level roles within the IT industry, where he worked for more than thirty years before branching out on his own to help establish a finance-related IT business in 2003. Roger and his co-founders successfully raised over £1 million of government grant funding and private sector investment through Business Angels and private investors.

Roger also has experience of the public sector having worked for a County Council managing Social Care IT systems.

Roger brings his expertise and direct personal knowledge to Cool Ventures to support new and growing businesses.

Emma is an accredited business adviser who since 2007 has specialized in working with businesses at the start up stage and during their early years of trading. She has assisted hundreds of people in the Bristol and Bath area to decide if working for themselves could be right for them, and if so, to get the business up and running. She understands that there are a lot of things to consider and do when you start a business, and can help you plan and prioritise.

Emma has been a director of a limited company since 2003, a sole trader since 2005, and started a property rental business in 2011. Emma has also worked in larger organisations, having previously been a scientific researcher in the NHS and at Bristol University. Furthermore, Emma spent over a decade in the Territorial Army as part of a team training potential officers in leadership skills and military tactics.

Emma has a particular expertise in guiding people to research their business ideas, develop viable business plans and to apply for funding.

Geoff is a highly experienced Business Adviser and Growth Coach with a strong background in Finance. Geoff worked with Business Link and Business West for over 9 years and supported more than 900 SME businesses - covering a wide variety of business issues including business assessments and diagnostics,business planning and strategy, sales and marketing, finance, management and HR. He previously held management positions in the Finance sector and has many years experience working as a voluntary Non Executive Director in the Public and Charitable Sectors.

As an independent Business Adviser and Growth Coach Geoff supports Small and Medium Businesses and Start Ups by delivering a comprehensive range of cost effective and practical business support including undertaking business and skills diagnostics to help business owners develop their strategic plans and achieve their business growth aspirations. My ambition is to help inspire and motivate business owners to improve the performance of their businesses with a view to saving time and increasing profitability.
