The South Gloucestershire Business Support Service is a publicly funded program that forms part of Universal Business Support – a West of England Combined Authority initiative, delivered in partnership with South Gloucestershire Council.
The programme aims to:
help businesses through the Covid-19 crisis and beyond by providing the support needed to adapt, recover and adjust to a new economic landscape
help businesses build resilience, develop capabilities / sustainable operations and to grow
help businesses to reach their full potential
support aspiring entrepreneurs to start viable businesses.
We have a team of experts on hand to provide quality an practical advice and training covering the core aspects of setting up and running a successful business. Including: strategy & planning, sales, finance, digital marekting, social media, HR and funding. All our events are fully funded for eligible businesses and can be viewed on the Training page.
If you are starting a business or looking to grow your business, but don’t qualify for funded support through the South Gloucestershire or BANES programmes, you can tap into our business consultancy services.
What’s on offer
Up to 12 hours of business support delivered through group webinars and a one-to-one business advice meeting*. Our webinars cover a range of topics such as starting and planning a business, business strategy, digital marketing, social media, finance and more. Up to 3 hours of coaching for ambitious and high growth businesses*.

Any South Gloucestershire SMEs and residents considering setting up their own business.
**Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) refers to enterprises which employ fewer than 250 persons have an annual turnover not exceeding 50 million euro (approx. £36.5m) and/or annual balance sheet total assets not exceeding €43 million (approx. £31.4m).
