If you’re just setting up or have recently started, this session will explain the essential financial requirements when running a business.

This event is only available and is free for small businesses, small charities, sole traders and residents based in South Gloucestershire and Bath & North East Somerset.

What will I learn?

This webinar has been designed to provide you with the essential tools and information you need to manage and monitor your business finances from day 1 and will be delivered in a supportive way to help you feel more confident with the numbers and legal requirements. This webinar will cover:

  • Understanding key financial terms.
  • How to price your product or service.
  • Invoicing, taking payment & how to ensure you get paid.
  • How to keep adequate financial records.
  • Reporting requirements for HMRC / Companies House.
  • Tax, National Insurance and payroll requirements and other issues to consider.
  • Action planning and next steps.

This webinar is aimed at Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies that want to learn more about finance.

The webinar will be run by Emma Smith who runs a number of businesses and has been advising individuals on how to start and run successful business and obtain funding for over a decade.

Please note, this workshop will be held on Zoom.

Your booking for this webinar is provisional until you have enrolled for the free Business Support Service. Enrolment is via a short online form – if you are not enrolled already, a link will be emailed directly to you.

Once enrolled, you will receive the Zoom webinar link and password to join the call. Do ensure you join the webinar at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.

If you are unable to attend this event, we require at least 2 working days notice for cancellations to enable us to offer your place to someone else. We reserve the right to cancel your place if you are not eligible for this service.

All participants of the service are eligible to receive up to 12 hours of free support. Funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
