Get more from Canva and create visuals that are more professional, purposeful and consistent.
Whether you’ve dabbled with Canva or use it regularly but still feel you’re not getting the best from it, this practical online workshop will help you move beyond the basics.
We’ll look at how to make better design decisions, customise templates, work more efficiently and learn some of Canva’s newer features – without needing a Canva Pro subscription.
What will I learn?
We’ll explore how to:
– Choose the right starting point for a design and use templates more effectively
– Improve your designs using simple principles of hierarchy, colour, typography, spacing and alignment
– Create more consistent branded content using your own colours, fonts and assets – – Work more efficiently by adapting and reusing designs
– Produce simple animated graphics and video content
– Discover useful newer Canva features, AI tools and Canva Apps
– Understand the right formats for downloading designs, for digital use or print
– Pick up practical shortcuts and time-saving tricks
There’ll be plenty of live demonstrations, discussion and opportunities to try things out for yourself.
Who should attend?
This workshop is aimed at small business owners, startups and organisations who have some experience of using Canva but want to get more from it.
Perhaps you’ve created the odd social media post, flyer or presentation, or you’ve experimented with templates but aren’t always sure how to make them look professional or on-brand.
You don’t need to be a design expert. And you don’t need Canva Pro. This session is suitable for people with varying levels of Canva experience, from those who have only dabbled to regular users who want to work more confidently, creatively and efficiently.
About your presenter:
Ruth Southorn is the founder of Swallowtail Social, helping small business owners to make sense of social media marketing and to create content with more confidence and purpose. With a background in journalism, writing and brand marketing, Ruth combines practical marketing knowhow with an approachable jargon-free teaching style. Her workshops focus on giving busy business owners useful skills and ideas around strategy and productivity that they can apply straight away.
