During this session we will introduce you to the essential things you will need to consider and provide the basic information and tools needed to help you get started.
We will also talk about free high-quality data and market research available from South Gloucestershire Libraries.
During the webinar, we will cover areas such as:
- Is setting up a business right for me?
- How will I know if my idea is viable?
- How do I set up a business?
- What should my legal status be and who do I have to tell?
- What legislation do I have to comply with?
- What is a business plan?
- Do I need to do market research and where to find the data?
- Where can I obtain funding from if needed?

This workshop is aimed at individuals, considering self-employment or setting up their own business.
A bit about your presenter:
This session will be run by our business start-up expert Emma Smith who runs a number of businesses and has been advising individuals on how to start and run a successful business and obtain funding for over a decade.
